Bucks Co., Regional Artists Exhibit Work At Phillips' Mill Show
NEW HOPE, PA — An exhibition considered one of the area's most prestigious is in full swing, showing a variety of work from local and regional artists.
The 92nd Juried Art Show at Phillips' Mill had a "picture-perfect opening weekend," according to a news release.
"I was thrilled with the quality of the work submitted," sculptor Darla Jackson, one of this year's jurors, said. "The hardest part was narrowing down the number of works accepted to fit within the space."
More than 90 framed works line the walls of the historic mill, in addition to 20 sculptures and several overflowing portfolios of unframed oils, watercolors, prints, collages, and mixed media pieces.
"I was amazed at the diversity of approaches," juror Frank Hyder said. "It is exciting to see how much enthusiasm the area artists have."
The mill has been hosting artists since the Pennsylvania Impressionist and area resident William Lathrop organized the very first exhibition in 1929.
"There's truly nothing quite like the energy behind community arts scenes," Ted Walsh, another juror, said. This kind of energy is important now more than ever."
