Jurors and Honored Artist Named
The Phillips’ Mill Art Exhibition committee has selected five artists to serve as jurors in its esteemed juried art exhibition, which begins on Sept. 24 and continues through Oct. 29.
This year’s jurors are:
- Howard Watson, a watercolorist from Wyncote, PA
- Holly Trostle Brigham, an oil and watercolorist from Philadelphia, PA
- Ron Wyffels, who specializes in graphics, from Havertown, PA
- Jennifer Frudakis, a sculptor from Doylestown, PA and
- Joe Mooney, a sculptor from Philadelphia, PA
Charles McVicker, a Princeton, N.J., watercolor, oil and acrylic painter, has been chosen as this year’s honored artist. Each year for the past few decades, the art committee of Phillips’ Mill Community Association has chosen a living artist to honor whose work has been accepted into the show over a substantial number of years. McVicker’s work has been accepted into the Phillips’ Mill Exhibition numerous times and received five awards, including the Patrons and Watercolor Award.

The Phillips’ Mill Art Committee has selected the image of the Mill it will use in much of the advertising and promotion for the upcoming 87th Exhibition in the fall. The chosen artwork will be entered into the show as non-juried for the duration of the show.
The winning artist is John C. Mertz and the title is “Autumn Glory at Phillips’ Mill,” oil on canvas, 16×20. Congratulations!
