Ways To Give

Marshall Circle Members

The Marshall Circle honors Dr. George Marshall who owned the Mill in the early 20th century. The mill became a gathering place for Marshall’s friends who included William Lathrop, who bought the miller’s house across from the mill, and his artist compatriots including Rae Sloan Bredin, Fern Coppedge, John Folinsbee, Daniel Garber, Mary Elizabeth Price, Edward Redfield and Walter Schofield. To preserve the mill for the use of the artists, Marshall made arrangements to sell the building to the group of artists – organized as the Phillips’ Mill Community Association – in 1929 for $5000, laying the foundation for the organization that today celebrates 95 years of uninterrupted service to the community of artists in the New Hope area.

‍Lights & Sound Upgrade

The historic theater at the Phillips’ Mill has hosted hundreds of plays and events since Dr. George Morley Marshall transformed the old mill into an arts venue in 1910. After researching the cost of renovating lighting and sound, we launched a campaign to raise funds for a much-needed upgrade. We are excited to share that we reached our goal!
