Concordia Chamber Players - Open Rehearsal
Free Open Rehearsal of “The Telling Is in the Music”
Saturday, April 15, 3 pm - At the Mill
Please join us at the Mill for a free open rehearsal of the Concordia Chamber Players on Saturday, April 15, at 3 pm. The formal concert will be the next day, Sunday, April 16, at 3 pm, at Trinity Church, Solebury.
The world-class musicians will be playing in their final rehearsal before the formal concert, surrounded by the beauty of the Phillips’ Mill Photographic Exhibition.
The program, called “The Telling Is in the Music,” will open with a piano trio performing “Be Still and Know” by Carlos Simon. Next they explore “Pisachi (Reveal)” by Chickasaw classical composer Jerod Impichchaachaaha Tate. A string quartet then allows the Concordia players to use their classical language to speak the language of Jerod Tate’s cultural heritage. The program will close with the Piano Quintet in G Minor, Op. 57 by Dmitri Shostakovich, whose music conveys lessons learned from his experiences in Communist Russia. Jordan Bak, the young superstar violist from Jamaica, will be joining the wonderful lineup of musicians. Click here for more info about the Concordia Chamber Players.
