It’s Phillips’ Mill Planting Time

It’s Phillips’ Mill Planting Time

Earth & Water Week

April 22 26, 2025 | 10:30 am – 2:00 pm weather permitting

Join us at Phillips’ Mill for our spring planting project organized by the Primrose Creek Coalition. Help us beautify our park-like setting and support our bird population, habitat and water quality!

We’ll have 100 small pots of native plants on hand, graciously awarded to us by Bowman’s Hill Wildflower Preserve. We’ll need as many hands as possible to get them planted and encourage all garden enthusiasts to come out and help.

We’ll have already planted 24 herbaceous shrubs because plants help stabilize the Primrose Creek streambed to support our stately sycamores.

What you’ll do:

  • Meet at Phillips’ Mill Community Association, 2619 River Road, New Hope, PA.
  • Review the soil amendment planting method and overview of the aerial landscaping planting plan.
  • Get started planting.
  • Plant as many as you wish.

What to wear/bring:

  • Wear work clothes, gloves and work shoes/boots.
  • Bring your own planting tools.
  • Bring lunch/snacks/beverage.

To sign up to help, email Laura Womack and Francis Collins at primrose@phillipsmill.org.

After watching the progress along the Primrose Creek, you may want to come back to check up on your plantings this summer! Bring the family, take photos, learn and enjoy! Then do the same thing to improve your watershed in your own backyard!

The Primrose Creek Coalition is a collaboration among the Primrose Creek Watershed Association, New Hope Colony Foundation for the Arts, Solebury Township, Lower Delaware Wild and Scenic River, Delaware River Greenway Partnership, The ELM Group, Simone Collins Landscape Architecture, and Phillips’ Mill Community Association.
