Auditions for "The Half of It," a new play by Domenick Scudera, directed by Griffin Horn, at Phillips’ Mill!

The Phillips’ Mill Community Association’s Drama Committee will present "The Half of It," a new play by Domenick Scudera, as part of their Premiere Showcase, on July 18, 19, 20 and 21, at Phillips’ Mill in New Hope, Pa. "The Half of It" is a new biographical drama based on the life of one of Broadway’s first major drag performers, Bert Savoy, as retold by his partner, Jay Brennan, years after Bert’s death. As Jay uncovers his memories of Bert, he pulls back the curtain on an entire life they lived together—traveling the vaudeville circuit, advising would-be celebrities backstage, playing the press against itself, dodging their exes, and falling in love all along the way. It is a charming portrait of a larger-than-life personality, often overlooked today.

Phillips’ Mill is seeking non-equity, volunteer actors for three male roles and two female roles. Actors can be of any age, and 3 roles play multiple parts throughout. Auditions will be held on June 2, with sides provided, or by actorsare unavailable that day. Rehearsals will be held on weeknights throughout June and July based on actor availability.
